Fight Inflammation with Tart Cherry Juice

Tart cherry juice can be a great addition to you post workout shakes to help prevent muscle soreness. Cherries contain compounds called anthocyanins and quercetins. These powerful antioxidants are very effective anti-inflammatories. Some studies suggest that anthocyanins have a natural COX-2 inhibitory effect comparable to that of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen. However, cherries have many other benefits, and are not associated with any of the adverse side effects of NSAIDs.
